Grizzly Bear is my favorite band, hands down. My favorite songs by them are too numerous to list. I'm also a big Department of Eagles fan (composed of one of Grizzly Bear's front men, his college roomate, and occasionally Grizzly Bear's drummer). The frontman in question, Daniel Rossen, is super prolific, and he actually continues to make music even though the band is no longer together. His solo music is also quite good, though not as flowing and atmospheric as many Grizzly Bear songs (in my opinion).
Tally Hall, though I listen to them less nowadays, is really solid for me. They have one of the best ratios of excellent songs to songs that I skip on their albums; I listen to almost every song on Good & Evil (except "You" I'm sorry Andrew Horowitz I love his Edu EP).
Weezer is a great band. They have sooooo much stuff. I'm really fascinated by Rivers Cuomo because I hear he used a spreadsheet to make a formula for songs? So he can just keep cranking them out? Idk, they've got some great stuff. My favorite album of theirs by far is the White Album, though Make Believe really gave it a run for it's money. Pinkerton is, of course, also a classic. Their demos are crazy too, the fan EP's some people have made from the free demos on Cuomo's site are spectacular. Cuomo is another really prolific artist that I admire, if for nothing other than his constant creation. Honerable song mentions: "Can't Knock the Hustle", all of SZNZ: Spring, "The Story of My Life" on Raditude, and oh yeah OK Human was really good too, shoutout to OK Human coming out around the same time as OK Orchestra by...
AJR! The first music concert I ever went to was AJR on their OK Orchestra tour. It was absolutely amazing. My favorite album by them is definitely Neotheater, then OK Orchestra, then either The Click or Maybe Man. I like the songs on Maybe Man better I think, but the almost aggressive/destructive vibe of the album puts me off a wee bit. Great stuff regardless.
I used to be really into Melanie Martinez, she's pretty cool. PORTALS had some really nice songs for sure.
My beloved, Bird, got me into video game soundtracks. Minecraft, which he also got me into playing, Hollow Knight, Celeste, and Crypt of the Necrodancer are the main OST's I listen to.
I dabble in international music, whith Stromae being my favorite French artist. I love all the unique rythms and such that he does, especially in his most recent album, Multitude.
Wallows. Good, simple, very catchy tunes. I missed seeing them in concert this past summer and I am still kicking myself.
Older stuff is fun. I especially like the Beach Boys, and I listen to some stuff by the Kinks, the Beatles, etc.
The Strokes and The Voidz! I'd say I'm more familiar with the latter, but both rock. "Human Sadness" and "Did My Best" are my favorite songs by them.
